OMG ! Phoonk-3 !! :)
.. and i thought no one would get it :)
ho my god..perfectly depict the lonliness..
lolz... Actually when I was going thru the pic only three words came out of my mouth were - OH MY GOD.. n saw the comments couldnt stop my laugh :) Above pictures of home are amazing !!!
one more thought - was wondering the interpretations of pictures and images can have more variants than the interpretations of texts... - As the above comment of Arvind found loneliness in them , I felt a nice calm feeling of Solitude :)
well, i guess its just a way of seeing. it may mean different things to different people. For me, this was a strange new place. new people. cold (ironically). I shot this soon after a not so great experience from my recent past. and of course, i had an inability to talk or describe. So i just took up my camera and shot what i felt like. shot what I saw. Its strange, but true, that you tend to notice different things during ur diff moods.anyways, I definitely am happy that atleast part of the aloofness does seem to get through to the viewer. Thoughts?
U r ryt .. we tend to notice different things at different times... n d same thing if u will notice again wd diff mood u will notice diff things which u didnt notice earlier... :)U r pictures have clarity , simplicity and provide a wide scope for various interpretations...I liked d pics of home cz they evoke my imagination of a home... The bedroom gives a cozy feeling.. lights r really awesome... the 2 pics below dat r also fine :) loved them...
the first few, took my breath away..i really wanted to step in there..
loved the sixth picture. what a play of light. beautiful...~ B
is this matunga?
Nice how there's a whole haunted 'stay away from here' mood in the images. But I think the cat and dog image doesn't gel with the collection...
Hahahaha... You've got spam :)
cats and dogs alway fighting ...
Hi Jyothi,I was casually browsing through an old Kanyaka magazine and happened to chance by your interview. Thought I'd look you up online and here you are :)What happened with the documentary on middle class women in Bangalore that you were working on? Complete yet? I would like to read/watch that. Anyway, all the best with your work. Really enjoyed the photographs.
@ Noire..Hey.. thats a long term project im working on.. I had started working on it in Jan 2009.. but i think it will easily take another 6months to a year to get it completed. But you can see some of the early work here http://jyothykarat.com/girlstory.html .
Very nice photos. I really like them. Greetings.
I went through most of the snaps put on the blog, but don't know my eyes got stuck here.Perhaps, because,my unconscious brain has kept similar images from my past..my childhood..which was spent so lonely..! No words.Just b'ful for me.PS:I'm so used to calmness. It comforts me.
