Children from a Construction Worker's community, Bangalore

7 year old Bhageshi getting dressed in an old abandoned school uniform Bhageshi This rag doll is the most treasured posession of the children Gangamma caught in her domestic chores Gangamma pose in front of her home with the children Preparing the midday meal On their way for the days work Gangamma bathing her daughter Rangamma on the road side

Some of them have vague memories of a distant village to which they had once belonged. They find nothing to complain about their makeshift home or the food they eat; for they have known no better. Their parents had come to Bangalore from Tumkur village (about 70km from Bangalore) in search of a better living and jobs in the construction industry.

  1. Wow good going, Keep it up. The pictures show a good sense of place. A Kid having bath and the water freeze is quite nice. The composition itself is very beautiful with the nala besides the kid having bath and the spectators around the scene. As you have mentioned they are migrants, but from where?
The image of a stuff doll is also pretty strong. The doll depicts the state of the place. God bless and Belated Happy birth day.
